Waterproofing and heated floors
Schluter Systems
A tile-in shower and tub waterproofing system engineered to prevent moisture damage behind the tile. We use Kerdi-Shower kits and Kerdi-Board in shower and tub areas, and Ditra-Heat for heated tile floors.
When we replace an old fiberglass shower unit in a Herndon home, the waterproofing behind the new tile is what decides whether the shower lasts. It is the material you will never see, so ask every contractor what they use.
Choosing materials that are easy to live with
- Fixtures are chosen during the Select step, before demolition, so they are on hand when the crew needs them.
- Sinks and faucets are picked before the countertop is cut.
- Tile is chosen for its location: wall, floor or shower pan.
- A heated floor is planned with the electrical work so the circuit and thermostat are in the right spot.
